It was a good story but I did not like how Ash’s whole world revolved around him for over 10 years.
Quintessential LJ Shen romance. Sassy, a little over the top and sexy as hell. I enjoyed this newest addition to the Boston Belles series, particularly the banter between Ash and Sam - it was top notch. I still loved the second book the most with Persy and Cillian, but only because I love the “sweetheart v. king of ice” dynamic. I’m not as partial to mafia romances, so just by way of trope, I didn’t love this one as much as the Villain. Will I reread? Probably not but still glad I read it. I recommend for a sexy, fun read! Especially if you already love LJ Shen because this is very much on brand for her.

Smut was good. The obsessed vibe from Aisling was a bit much. Some parts did seem unnecessary. Overall okay.
I don’t even know how to put this book into words! It was that good.
I went into this expecting a timid, docile, people pleaser Of a woman but holy shit Aisling Fitzpatrick is a bad ass! She went toe to toe with Sam and was not afraid to stand her ground. She did not let him push her around. I think Sam was surprised at how alike they really were and how well they complemented each other. Their story was definitely one of a kind. The push and pull, the angst and damn the steam was all to die for. This love was a decade in the making and when they finally got together it was pure perfection. Once again this is LJ at her best. Can’t wait to see how brilliant The Rake will be.

Definitely not her best work. I kind of got tired of reading most of it and found I was skipping paragraphs at a time and I still got the gist of it.
it was so good until it became cringe and unbearable.
the only good story in this series is the hunter. don't know why I still bother w lj

Arc in exchange for an honest review.
I don't think I was prepared when it came to these two, I was not expecting to love or be this blown away by Aisling and Sam as I was! This honestly is probably one of my favourite of the series, I loved The Hunter (and he will always be my favourite male to read) but I think the plot for this book took the cake of the series! It completely blew The Villain out of the water.
Aisling was not what I was expecting at all, I was hesitant about reading this book because I went in with the mindset that Aisling was going to be meek and not at all strong (another version of Persy honestly.) However, Aisling was a force to be reckoned with - she stood up for herself and was definitely able to keep up with Sam and keep him in line. I loved reading her she was so refreshing.
Sam was not what I was expecting at all and I loved his relationship with Sailor, Troy and Sparrow - it was so nice being able to see more of Troy and Sparrow again! I love their little family. I didn't know how Shen was going to make Sam fall in love, but she wrote it so well and in character! Both of them were so witty and electric for one another I couldn't put it down!
After this book though, it brings us FINALLY one step closer to Emmabelle's book! I've been waiting for hers since she was introduced in The Hunter! I need her book right now, I want to read about an alpha female and a woman who knows what she wants and delivers! It's annoying how most characters demean her and see her in a certain way in this series, so I'm excited to see how she is from her perspective! Also, her and Devon - I need to know how their story goes!
Check out this book when it comes out June 14th!

I wish Aisling would grow a backbone and Sam can think before he speaks because most of his dialogue was straight up embarrassing
