Honestly, i’m just kind of indifferent about this book. I didn’t hate it. I didn’t love it. it wasn’t bad by any means. it just didn’t capture my interest. I know the twists and reveals were supposed to be shocking, and I suppose they were, but they just didn’t really pack a punch with me.

I don’t really understand the reason why the book was split into Cass and the psychologist’s POVs, I could see if it was mainly the psychologist’s POV and then the real story from Cass at the end, but it just made the reveals at the end a little more confusing.

I don’t really have much more to say because it just wasn’t my cup of tea. If people loved this book, it wouldn’t surprise me, neither would it if someone else hated it.

This mystery was so well written!! Usually I can guess what probably happens- who did what- but not with this book. The whole way through I kept feeling like something was off but I couldn’t put my finger on it or even chance a guess!! The end totally caught me off guard!! Some sexual scenes but not graphic. Great read!

The mother character was the most interesting part of this book. Seeing a truly narcissistic person in their element was fascinating.
I didn't know where this book was going and was surprised several times.

My main problem with this book was the writing style. Walker had so many good elements in this book, but she used a tell, not show, style.

This was so messed up, lol. I enjoyed the ending and how it all came together and we finally got answers but so much of it just made me think "wtf" while reading. Also, I strongly dislike twists where the reader could not have properly guessed or saw it coming, I feel like those are cheating. I found something about the form of writing a bit hard to concentrate for some reason, I think it was how the sentences were structured and how some new thoughts weren't separated? Not sure. Didn't hate the read but definitely will not be recommending it.
