One thing about Cassandra Clare’s books is that they are not perfect, but they are addictive as hell. I finished this book in two days, because I simply could not put it down.
I think we can all agree that the characters are what truly make this book so enjoyable. Will, Jem, and Tessa were written in such a masterful way, they almost felt real. Will and Jem’s friendship has got to be one of, if not the most heartwarming friendships i have ever seen, they are so special to me.
And, like everyone else, I picked this book up initially for the romance because I was curious to see what makes this love triangle so much better than every other love triangle I’ve seen, but i ended up falling in love with the plot. The world building and the magic system were so enjoyable to read, I had so much fun.

“I hadn’t noticed, really.”
“Yes you have, and I’ve noticed you noticing.”
The romance in this was just amazing (obviously). GOD DOES CASSANDRA CLARE KNOW HOW TO WRITE A LOVE TRIANGLE. she makes it so that you, as the reader, will find it utterly IMPOSSIBLE to pick a side. I loved this book so much, yes the vampires did throw me off a little, but I loved it nonetheless. I cannot wait to read the second book
