It’s definitely fun! Silly, short little stories about an old lady murdering people who probably deserved it.

The most charming serial killer you’ll never suspect, a relaxing lighthearted, and bloodthirsty short read about a little old lady who is up to no good at all.
Moderate: Murder, Blood, and Violence
Minor: Domestic abuse

Well written and darkly comedic, possibly just not my vibe though.
Tells the story of... well.. title says it all really.
Thematically this is a story of revenge and spite, and leaning hard into the Ageism that paints elderly women as powerless little-old-biddies who don't have all their faculties.
I found the humour hilarious when it was implicit, but a little frustrating when I would get a joke and then it was spelled out explicitly afterwards.
Maybe this woman is like a dowager Dexter. I wouldn't want to cross her!

DNF after the first short story. Partly the issue was that this is not what I wanted to read. I wanted to read a Christmas murder mystery. This is not a mystery because we know whodunnit from the start. But mostly, I found Maude to be one-dimensional. I didn't need her to be likeable, just interesting. I just didn't care for her.
