I struggled with the pacing of this book at times, but I enjoyed the fresh take on some classic stories and tropes. It’s a pretty standard romantasy, on the more dark end in themes. The most compelling piece to me was the relationship between the sisters.

3.75 ⭐️ The only reason this didn’t get higher stars is because it took almost 300 pages for me to actually get into the story. I didn’t feel any chemistry between Eammon & Red most of the book, and that’s important to me. It does pick up, and I am interested to see if the second book is better.
Soft dnf for now it just feels boring and
Too slow of a burn. Maybe one day I’ll pick it back up but for now, I can’t continue.
Adored this book, loved the characters! Now the world building did confuse me, had a hard time visualizing things. Onwards to the second book!
After reading the entire book I still don't quite understand the Wilderwood or why the 5 kings are so bad, which is frustrating. I think the world needs more building and explaining in order for me to give it 4 stars at least.
The second half of the book is much better in my opinion and i was interested to see the plot resemble beauty and the beast over Red Riding Hood. I cannot say i was disappointed though!!

Too complicated, couldn't get into it. My brain wasn't meant for this writing style
