I am Buddy Re-Reading these with two of my favourite trash talking Buddy Readers this year, and learned when we started that one had only previously read Twilight and Breaking Dawn. At first I thought this was madness, but could respect it. But as I kept reading, I realized that maybe it was not madness at all.
Because nothing fucking happens in this book. It's basically 400 pages of pining with 50 pages of actual plot.
So why three stars, if it's so terrible? Idk. There's just something compelling here even if I'm making faces while I read or yelling at everyone except Charlie.

As with my review of Twilight, I cannot recommend this as a great book. All of my criticisms of Twilight are true for this one as well.
That said, I literally finished this whole book--all 600 pages of it--in a single day. I was completely exhausted from the night before but stayed up late to finish it anyway. It was ridiculous! And I immediately went out and bought the final two books in the series even though I could only find them in hardback, and I'm a fair chunk of the way into the next one already.
So as before, if you know what you're in for, these books are enjoyable--in a teenage girl kind of a way. :)

Four stars because I love Jacob Black and nothing else. Bella was tolerable until the last few chapters. On another note though, if I was her I would've chosen Jacob.

I could go into detail about everything that’s wrong with this book and series as a whole, but we all know it by now.
Does any of that stop me from actually enjoying the hell out of it? No! There is something about the books you read in your formative teenage years, they stay with you, they can do no wrong. So even if it’s so bad, I will continue to love it.
