It felt like there was a lot of lead up in this book and then the ending happened very quickly. I liked how Kenney worked Wonderland references into the story and gave a hint for where the story will take us next. This one did feel a little heavier than the first book, especially with digging into Fin's backstory a bit more.

slower start than the first book and a really mean open ending, but i trust rebecca implicitly and i'm excited to read the rest of this series

Fun story just like the first in the series. Though I did like the previous book better. The ending was very rushed in this book.
⭐⭐⭐

This is definitely a bit darker than the first book, but I still enjoyed it. The storytelling and plot just kept evolving and I LOVED it.

Wow! First we got a Nutcracker retelling now we get a new twist on Alice in Wonderland. And I'm loving it!! Picking up right where A Court of Sugar and Spice left off we get to see more of Clara and Fin along with new characters that just has me falling in love with this world even more. She took the story we all grew up on turned it into her world with the original characters fitting perfectly.

With Lir & Louisa out on their "honeymoon" adventure, Fin is looking out for the kingdom whether he wanted to or not. But when an unsettling message comes through from Louisa & Clara's Uncle Drosselmeyer, their lives may change for the worst. Unfortunately a human maid by the name of Alice has been taking from him and he needs their help to save her since he's banned from their world. Now Clara and Fin are on an adventure to save her but just one problem. Fin has to go back to the Unseelie where all his past trauma came from and he may not be strong enough to handle it. My heart literally broke for Fin, like we all knew the Unseelie were cruel but damn that hurt.

With Alice in the hands of "The White Rabbit" & " The Cheshire Cat" anything is possible. The Rabbit is a scientist and with Alice being pure it raises to many questions for him to experiment. But can he and the cat keep their feelings to themselves or can love conquer all?? Will they be able to save Alice and defeat the "Queen of Hearts"? Will Finias be okay?

You'll get all these questions answered and more. Rebecca has created this world with endless possibilities and I can't wait for the next book. The little hints she dropped throughout the book has me excited! Please check trigger warnings before reading!! There are some pretty dark topics being touched especially in the chapter were we find out about Fin's past. Thank you, Rebecca for an ARC copy of A Court of Hearts and Hunger!! I can't wait for the next book and see where the crews adventure takes them next!
