I'd forgotten what Mary Stewart's writing was like. In some ways, it is similar to R. R. Martin's writing in his Game of Thrones series, but somehow in a way that, while slightly less epic, is much much more appealing to me. But it has that almost historical feel - particularly given that it revolves around a known myth. Fun to read it again!
pg. 59: "es tan fácil que hasta una mujer puede hacerlo" y hasta aquí llega mi emoción por leer a Arturo y Merlín!

It was a cool look at almost post apocalyptic Britain. Not really apocalypse level, but the fact that there were relatively recent Roman ruins everywhere was a new perspective.

One of my favorite books ever. Incredible, vibrant descriptions that make me feel as though I'm on the other side of the world. Characters with flaws and virtues. Truly a masterpiece.

It just isn't grabbing me. The language is too flowery, and the pace is too slow.
First of all, I love King Arthur stories. This book is a triology from Merlin's life. I had some trouble with this book dragging for me. It's full of politics. That part just was so boring. However, the other parts did catch my interest and I did finish the book enjoying it more than I had hoped. A friend of mine lent me these books and she loves them so I'm going on to the second one and seeing how it goes.
