So I sort of started this series out of order which I think is like a reading sin or something but hey, I saw this book on hoopla and I just had to have it. I didn't even think about where it was within whatever series it was in. I saw the cover. I saw how long the audio was. I got it. Pretty simple stuff but now that I did start it out of order I might as well continue reading this series that way - so I will definitely move to book 2 then go to book 1. THEN maybe one day and one year I will actually reread this series in the correct order. MAYBE.

Anyhooo, Ruining Mr. Perfect is about Cameron and Vanessa - or was it? I didn't really get that it was all about them and their relationship. To me it seemed like this book was more about Cameron's overall family and whatever was going on between his parents. Hopefully the next two books might clear this whole family thing up?

Now don't get me wrong, I still loved the book but I will admit that I was a little confused. This is obviously all my fault since I didn't read the first book nor the second book. But trust me, I will redeem myself one day guys!

I really liked Vanessa and Cameron and I liked their relationship. I didn't really like the audio because I thought whoever was reading it was just annoying af. So whenever I get the next two books I'll just stick to actually reading them.

I kept feeling like portions of Cam and Vanessa's stories were getting sidetracked in favor or other characters' stories. When the story focused on one or both of them, it shone, but it sometimes felt like too many other plot lines were getting shoehorned in.

Vanessa and Cam were my least favorite of the series so far. I just couldn't feel their connection as well as the other couples. I also felt like the book spent too much time on Cam's parents.

I really enjoyed this book. It did have a trope that I wasn’t the biggest fan of at the end but overall I really liked the relationship between the main characters and the relationship between Cam and his family.
Vanessa’s friends/ family just seemed kinda of forced and they pointed out that was is a little cold and not a warm and fuzzy person. I really liked that about her she didn’t have stars in her eyes about what happens in a relationship.
Cute story between characters.
One trope that you’re either gonna love or hate.
Very honest and up front female lead.
Would re-read

Ruining Mr. Perfect by Marie Harte is the third installment in the boisterous McCauley Brothers series. In this outing, it is youngest brother Cameron's turn to find love and no one is more perfect for him than Vanessa Campbell. Although their story is a little quieter than the previous novels, there is plenty of passion between this intellectual couple and conflict arises from very unexpected sources.

Cameron is the only McCauley brother who is not a blue-collar worker. He is an über successful investment bank and he enjoys the finer things in life. He has a nice car, a fancy apartment and he is very health conscious. All of which makes him the ideal match for his brother's neighbor, Vanessa.

Vanessa is an uptight workaholic who appears rather cold and standoffish. She is a little on the controlling side and she has very exacting standards. She is sarcastic and blunt but her honesty is refreshing. Vanessa is as career driven and goal oriented as Cameron and watching them match wits is pretty exciting and entertaining.

Vanessa and Cameron are a good fit and they bring out the best in one another. Vanessa has never been in a long term relationship and although she is happy with Cameron, she is always on guard, waiting for something to go wrong. She is a little emotionally distant, but that does not mean she feel things deeply.

Cameron is very sweet, always on his best behavior and he is very intent on making Vanessa happy. He is almost too nice at times and he tries so hard to be what he thinks Vanessa wants that it sometimes seems like we do not really see the "real" Cameron.

The romance between Vanessa and Cameron is absolutely delightful. They have so much in common, they really "get" one another and for Cameron, this is a welcome change since he does not fit in with his brothers or his dad. Cameron's easy acceptance of Vanessa's eccentricities is also a big relief for her and she finds it reassuring that she is not as abnormal as she sometimes feels.

Marie Harte's Ruining Mr. Perfect is a fast paced and engaging story with likable characters, a realistic storyline and a romance that is very heartwarming. A charming addition to the McCauley Brothers series that old and new fans are sure to enjoy.

Ruining Mr. Perfect is the third book in the McCauley Brother's series and also the third book I have read by this author. I love the author's writing style and absolutely adore the characters of this series and really enjoy getting to know each of them more and more. This one revolves mostly around Cameron and Vanessa, with a side story about Cam's parents and a bit of the rest of the characters too. I have been looking forward to this romance for quite some time now. We all knew it was coming, maybe even before the characters did, and I think that delicious anticipation made it even better. There were definitely some things I did not anticipate happening going on though, but hey when does life ever go exactly as we think right? Cam is cut from a different cloth than his brothers and I really appreciate that. His and Vanessa's chemistry was great and I totally swooned to find out he used the same gym as her just to be around her, even though his building has its own. One thing I love about Harte's writing is that the story could stand completely on its own, even without the steamy hookups, but the steam adds to and accentuates the story making it better and more intimate. Overall I'm not sure if I'd say I liked this one as much as the first two books ( which I loved ) but I think it's not far behind. Nevertheless it's still a great addition to the series and I'm eager to read the next book ( Woo! Next one's about Mike! ) to see where things go from here. I am a little sad that the next book will be the last of the series. I'm not ready to say goodbye to the boys! These books could be read as standalones but of course I totally recommend reading them as a series since it does give you a little more story for each couple with each book. If you think you'd like a fun, steamy romance, with somewhat sarcastic yet handsome brothers, then you should give this series a shot!
