Incredibly vivid, wildly addicting, and deeply painful, the Poppy War lived up to the hype around it and more. The author's passion for history and bringing some version of events from our world to this fictional setting and letting us see it through Rin's eyes while simultaneously not justifying all of her actions is incredible. You find yourself questioning constantly what is right and what is wrong, in this world where so much is broken and so much evil exists what is justice? Truly an epic, with all of the horror, heart, and devastation that comes along with that.
