Exciting and has great world-building and characters. I think Rin is especially a good main character and it's always nice to get strong women main characters. However, the book was super dark so I'll read something light next and then decide if I want to continue the series. It's a good idea to take note of the trigger warnings before reading!

I'm so sad that the empress was evil as I shipped her and Rin together :'( Please tell me I wasn't the only one??? I thought Rin was super infatuated with her when she first saw her (HELLO, there was like a whole paragraph about her unrivaled beauty) and then each and every time she described her! Maybe it was just me? :')

I am devastated
This book made me emotional, sad, angry and almost throwing up. The book reflects all the emotions and the cruelty and humanity that one could go through. It showed us the horror and the violence of the war.
I honestly don't know how to write this review.
I loved the rawness and brutality of the characters. They were not sugar-coated and we could see their mind running, taking hard decisions and thinking about what's right or wrong.
Rin is such a strong women, willing to sacrifice her body and her mind to get justice (even if we don't know if what she did was the right justice or if her revenge will be the reason of her fall)
Idk I am confused and so curious about the second book, I am exited to read it !!!
