There is something so real about the way Elena describes the complex situations and feelings a woman can go through. I love Ferrante’s honestly in describing some of the difficult feelings a women can go through.

Spoilers:
Leda is a divorced mother of two daughters who has taken a vacation by the coast. She goes to the beach every day and gets to know a big loud Neapolitian family that reminds her of where she came from originally. She starts observing Nina with her daughter Elena who was different from the rest of the family. When Elena goes missing, Leda is the one who finds her and returns her to her family but keeps Elena’s doll which Elena is really attached to. The doll represents the center of all the emotions and memories of Leda’s unhappiness childhood and motherhood.

Hmmm, idk about this one. I’ll read more of Ferrante though in the future I think.
