Depressing and terrifying

Is it bad fan fic? Yes.

But is it bad fan fic written by someone who knows the source material oh so well and is also horrifically AU as one of the characters got removed, so it's sort of like every fanfic that has Sirius surviving OotP? Yeah.

Either way, it could happen, Lewis knows how it could happen, and that's why it's scary.

Worth the read, and clearly draws the line between fact and fiction. The last chapter is absolutely accurate, as is the rest of it. Now they have long range missiles able to reach all of the US https://missilethreat.csis.org/country/dprk/ , and thermonuclears, it bears thinking about.

Actual rating might be 4.5 stars. I found this to be a well-written, totally plausible scenario of how a nuclear attack by North Korea would unfold. The author's speculation on how the Trump administration would react to such an attack seemed likely as well given how it has responded to past threats. Lewis is obviously knowledgeable about the history and politics of Korea as well as the federal government, and I was impressed that the book read more like a thriller than a dull government report.
