Really interesting book that covers a wide range of topics! I just wish the chapters had been longer and there had been more scientific studies to balance out the anecdotes

Sehr schöne Geschichten woraus man einiges mitnehmen kann. Jedoch zieht sich das Buch sehr. Ich musste mich teils sehr anstrengen, es durchzulesen…

The second book in this series, after [b:The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate: Discoveries from a Secret World|28256439|The Hidden Life of Trees What They Feel, How They Communicate Discoveries from a Secret World|Peter Wohlleben|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1464281905l/28256439._SX50_.jpg|48295241], follows a similar approach, looking into the behaviors and minds of animals, both domestic and wild. Although some is based on the author's personal experiences (he is a forester in Germany, as well as living on a farm), there is plenty that is based on research as well. Good read for someone who loves animals.

Gives hope for a better future, needs some change from the animal calling himself human.

This wasn't particularly revolutionary. If you already agree with the premise that animals have thoughts and feelings, you probably won't get much out of it. I liked the book about trees a lot better.

I absolutely adore Peter's books. They are great for everyone. I love how he gives examples of scientific research and comments on it with his own thoughts and experiences without forcing his beliefs on a reader, everyone can have their own opinion and that's amazing!
