This book was lovely but i got periodically pretty tired of it. I appreciate the Raven facts though
Some interesting points, but also several unsubstantiated claims. Not a terribly thorough book, but an interesting one nonetheless.
I enjoyed learning a bit about a few animals although most of the evidence was restricted to just a few species.
I would have given it 3/5 but understanding non-human animals is a particularly important topic for me and any literature which serves to bridge the knowledge gap deserves its day.

always uneasy about eating animals became a vegetarian a few months ago. Reading this book on animal consciousness I am glad I did.

I sadly didn't learn anything new about animals through this book. Only more about the author.
I found the whole thing lacking in science and studies and this seems to be a theme in this author's books. Sadly I won't be reading more from him. Three books have definitely been enough to know that he is not my type of nature writer. Just all too simplistic!
