This book began good but went wrong pretty fast. The female main character Helen is described as shy but I don't see her as being so. Her actions are naive, stupid and illogical. Most of the times I couldn't understand why she handles certain situations the way she does. So, Helen annoyed me very much!
The male counterpart is a quiet and nice guy. But nothing more. There is no real character due to the lack of character description.
I also wasn't surprised by the obvious plottwists that happened.

In the future, I will try to read the second book to see if it will become better.

Helen lives a happy life until the Delo family move to her town. As soon as Helen sees Lucas for the very first time she has no control of her body, feelings or actions.
Helen and Lucas want to literally kill each other even though Lucas is holding on to his will power as hard as he can.
They try everything to stay away from each other but dreams and the three strange blooded ghosts only push them together.
Then all of a sudden the hate and anger they feel for each other dissipates.
This books has action, magic, romance, friendships and fun but it lacked something for me sadly.
I didn’t mind the characters and it was written quite well.
I was hoping for so much more from this book than what I received.
The chapters were so long, I’m a fast reader but getting to the end of a chapter seemed to take forever.

I wish i could give it a five but i cant....i kind of felt the beginning was slow but overall i really enjoyed the book. Lucas and Helen were amazing but the ending was like City of Bones all over again. I liked it alot and i cant wait to read Dreamless!!!

Of all the Twilight rip-offs, this is the rip-offiest. Many YA books have similarities, but good GOD is this familiar stuff! The MC lives alone with her distant father, and cooks his meals. Dad is too busy watching sports to notice that her boyfriend basically lives with her. The BF lives with his parents (mom is EXACTLY like Esme), and four other siblings/cousins, one of whom, a girl, has less-than-reliable predictions of the future that the x-men rely on too much. Girl and her BF can't make out or they won't be able to stop, and that will start a big war. I still kind of liked it because I am a sucker for Greek Mythology.

I'll come back to this when I finish the whole series.

look son i am fully aware that this book is flawed. i know sometimes the writing is mediocre, and that the dialogue is awkward at places and doesn't sound authentic a lot of the time. i know people will recognise clichés and roll their eyes when they're reading it, i know the love interest is probably "too perfect". even i thought it was totally predicable. so i know these flaws are there and that they're big ones. hell, they're still bothering me. but i am not going to even pretend that i didn't eat lucas up with a giant spoon because he's exactly what i love in love interests and i've got to go on my enjoyment of the book, and would have been a solid 4 stars up until about the last 80 pages. it sort of felt like it ran out of steam and i didn't feel connected to the story in the same way. so three stars because of a disappointing ending, though i can't put my finger on why i felt like this. but i'm a sucker for boys like lucas, so oh well.
