This story really surprised me. It starts with a lot of cursing, so I was kinda nervous that I wouldn’t like it. However, the mere strangeness of it, combined with the unique style choices, urged me to keep reading and dive deeper into this odd, post-war world where everyone tells the truth, no matter how painful, ugly, or rude it is.

Content warning: Frequent cursing, a boy is punched on the face, addiction, child death (mentioned), verbal abuse (the protagonist’s family constantly makes comments about how he is a mistake and reflects poorly on them).
