an ambitious feat to have an entire novel comprised of sonnets. had trouble keeping up with the cast of characters but was obsessed w the rhythm and pacing and the fact that i have never read anything like it.

It's so real and true and also I hate everyone and I've never wanted to go stealth and assimilate as much as I have after reading this book lmfao fucking hell. Anyway this is a delight to read. If Detransition, Baby was a "love letter" to the trans women of New York in 2014, then this book is like, a hate letter. And yet it's quite good.

I really liked the writing style, and the rhyming is clever. I onow the characters are supposed to be a mess, but gosh darn, do they range from obnoxious and self-obsessed to just so bleak. But it's a very heartfelt portrayal still.

thought the novel in verse form ended up being a bit constraining, but it did deliver to wondrous effect on some occasions and it's an insane literary achievement all the same. liked the way the characters' lives crossed over and how the book questioned the meaning of community in queer circles

It took me a while to get the rhythm, and I did enjoy it very much, but found it hard to keep track of the many people and each of their storylines and drama.
There were lots of different topics and societal challenges brought up, in a very real way. Things aren't resolved cleanly, and that feels about right.
