This book was heartbreaking. I loved that it was such an amazing emotional story it breaks my heart that this has happened to people and that they lost so many loved ones. This is a book I think most people should read because it shows the strength and determination some have
I feel so bad about this rating because I normally love this author’s books. And how can you be like “oh 2 stars” to a true story about people suffering in a prisoner of war camp?

I found it very slow, not much happening and very jilted. I was expecting Tattooist of Auschwitz but it's trying to be that without enough of a story. Harrowing as the women's experience is, the way it is written doesn't grip me.

This book was a beautiful, harrowing, hopeful, deeply sad yet inspiring story. I found it especially emotional as a nurse myself, reading the true tales of nurses who were subjected to such terrors, and their companions who often times became their patients. Am glad I picked this one up.
