I'm interested in this topic and think I understood the main points but struggled with the nuances a bit. Part of it was my usual struggles with Morrison's writing style - it's complex and clever but I have trouble following a lot of her points, especially in NF. Another part of it was that the literary criticism focused on works that I havent read (and honestly never will). Overall, I don't think I have the academic chops to get everything out of it that one could, but I don't blame the author for that. Will reshelve and try to come back to this.
Read this book several years ago and it is very enlightening. A great book to give perspective to readers about literature, race and culture. Definitely a great addition to your personal shelves.
