I would love to go back to Paris, and reading about Laura's year living there with Franck while attending university was a wonderful armchair travel experience. I spent only a few days there and am not healthy enough (or out of debt enough) to travel now anyways. The side story of their neighbors was beautiful and I hope that Laura does write a fictionalized version of their story someday like she mentioned in the Q&A at the end.

Laura Bradbury's latest installment in the Grape series is a wonderful addition to an already stellar collection. My Grape Paris showcases a critical time period in the development of Laura as a young adult, and of Laura & Franck's relationship as they both decide what kind of life they want to lead. For me, this book brings the series to a new level. Not only am I taken on a satisfying gastronomic journey with every page turn, I feel as if I am Laura as she labors over her decisions. As someone who has struggled with wanting independence, adventure, love, & roots all at the same time, this book provides an excellent look into someone who wants the same things and has the power of hindsight. I only wish I could have read this series as a teenager, and I can't wait to share it with my daughter.
