It's probably because of my expectations, because while the stories were interesting and entertaining, I just expected... more. Maybe less stories that are just about a page long and more insight into them?

It takes us to understand marketing considering the local market. Why does Starbuck sells Coxinha in Brazil? Why McDonalds does not have the regular patty in India?

Although this book technically provides what it promises, it’s just a book of translation related anecdotes. Unless you’re looking for a book that is just anecdotes, I would find a different book on the topic.

This book is basically an introduction to what interpreters and translators do, the challenges they face, and how their work impacts our daily lives. The content is mostly anecdotal, which was fun, but because each section was so short, I felt that there were a lot of missed opportunities. There were several areas that I wish had been fleshed out more, although for the average reader it would probably be fine.
