This started off so strong and I was so into it and just loving it!! I loved the characters and the premise and Stella's job was so fun and I feel like I could talk to her for hours about what she does but then...
What on earth?
We had this DELICIOUS slow burn and then a freight train ending that left way too much unresolved. Like some really important shit!!
It was also super predictable, so predictable I was hoping that was all a red herring. Such a pity because the potential for it to be awesome was certainly there.
I really didn’t like the male point of view at all. It became worse and worse as I went through the book. The female point of view was just ok. But him? Awful. In his opinion all woman he dated were stupid or superficial except the FMC. It was ugly to hear all the time him talking like that about women and even worse her approving so easily of that. And it didn’t felt like they fell in love naturally or anything. It just went from 10% chemistry/intensity to 90% all of a sudden. They barely made any contact, and all of a sudden he was making all kinds of sexual innuendos. When did that all started? What triggered it?
And he really didn’t seem like a nice book boyfriend. He was extremely jealous, very territorial, but in a brut way, not cute, not sexy, more like in a icky way. He was acting really ugly on jealousy. Really icky guy.
And the girl - I think she might be a little superficial. The author tries to make her look modest and what not, but doesn’t really look that way, because she always notices everything of luxury, asks about model cars, but then says “i don’t care what car it is” - then don’t ask. What the hell? She says she wanted to be professional and not get herself entangled with the person she works with and with the first occasion she gets goes all in. Nothing holds her back. It was really easy.
There were some cute things throughout the book. But it’s so annoying to read Hudson POV. He’a kind of a territorial ass. He is more worried about others to know she is his, then to focus on her. Who does that? She’s yours already, that’s all you need. You don’t need to make a show about it. Then act like an ass to the guy apologizing saying he didn’t know she was taken. Yack.

Steered by the universe
The meet cute in this book will have you laughing so hard. I always love how this author can pull me in and get invested instantly. Stella, a woman after my own heart. She's inventive, witty, loyal and quirky. Hudson gives me goosebumps when he raised the bet. He's also honest, family oriented and business savvy. Little Charlie will steal your heart with dolly parton, ice cream and no filter. As you take this journey, if the universe ever had this many "coincidences" I would definitely know fate was looking out for me. I enjoyed the banter and chemistry that Stella and Hudson had together. I spotted the heartbreak in the journey early on. But how they both handled it warmed me through and through. Great book like I've come to expect from this author.

This was underwhelming, to say the least.
2.5 stars
I didn't care for the couple and you can see the reveal from a mile away.
I'm disappointed that I'm hitting a rut with indie romances.

I loved this. It was just the perfect read to get me out of the slump I had fallen into. It was such a heart-warming romance that just made you feel all gooey inside.
And yes...maybe I did shed a tear or two but what're a few tears amongst friends, right?
I've never read anything by Vi Keeland before and this blew me away. It was the perfect balance between humour and romance. The chemistry of these two were practically rolling off the pages.
Was the main twist very obvious - yes. Was it a little cliche in places - yes. But somehow it worked and I was gripped the whole time. I basically read it in a single sitting from page 20 onwards (and I had only put it down before then because I had to)
I loved the premise. It was so quirky and fun - much like Stella, who was just an awesome protagonist. I loved all her unusual quirks. And she wasn't just the quirky female lead - she was actually quirky, with fun hobbies I hadn't heard of and a job and a dream that were farfetched but also attainable. She was just so real and relatable. I loved her.
I also really liked Hudson, he was such a romantic - not that he would admit it. I loved his stubbornness and protectiveness. I wish we had more interactions with him and his sister because they were awsome together. Hudson's whole plot just broke my heart and surprisingly for me - I actually loved Charlie - I usually hate children in my romances but Charlie was a girl after my own heart.
Stella's best friend Fisher was my favorite character though. I loved his humour, constant positivity and just general amazingness as a best friend. Seriously, this guy was just so supportive. I want him to get his own book because I would love to dive into his backstory more.
There was minimal smut and it was very tasteful. It was such a good slow-burn romance between them. I just adored it.
So yeah, overall, maybe a favourite of the month? It was amazing either way and I definitely recommend it if you haven't read from Keeland before and you enjoy a heartwarming romance with a little spice.

I enjoyed this so...unexpectedly? I laughed so much, literal giggles with kicking feet motions (I gave myself the ick).
I LOVE a contemporary romance and sometimes I just want a basic plot to follow and this gave me that and more.

Okay, this was so friggin' cute! Also, a little surprising towards the end with how things went in the last few chapters. Highly recommend!
There isn't really anything all that bad to say about this fairly average Vi Keeland romance. Hudson and Stella were nice lead characters for the story, but there wasn't anything about either of them that made them pop off the page. Stella's got a super sense of smell, so she's going to put her talent to good use by starting a company that creates signature scents for people. Hudson is the head of a private equity firm that is going to invest in her startup. They have a meet-cute (sort of) when Stella crashes Hudson's sister's wedding, and he discovers her deception. But before long they find themselves together on a business venture, and the sparks fly. That's pretty much it. There isn't much drama as these two begin to fall in love. There is a bit of drama that doesn't really keep them apart, but it does create difficulties for the two main characters. There's a cute little girl, cheating exes, a super supportive best friend, and a supportive sister ... all of them feeling more like pre-planned place holders rather than authentic people. That's not to say they were negative influences on the story ... they just didn't really enhance it at all.
I've got to be honest ... I've got nothing else to say about this book. I liked it. I did. But it seemed a lot like the sort of book written by someone who pumps out twenty romance books a year, following a formula that readers expect and like. Sure, readers might like them, but there really isn't anything to them. That's how this felt ... nice but hollow. I grabbed this audio book because it is narrated by the fabulous Andi Arndt and Sebastian York. They never fail to make ordinary romance stories seem even better as you listen to it. They did great here. I enjoyed listening to this story, but it is simply average. I'll give it three stars.
