The Invitation

Knappe 4 Sterne.

anyone know of any weddings I can crash?

Not as steamy as I like but I enjoyed the storyline. It was funny and sweet, I think I had a smile on my face the whole time!

It’s the chemistry for me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stella receives a fancy wedding invitation addressed to her ex-roommate. She and her bestie decide to crash using fake names. What could go wrong? Well.. a lot actually. The stupid hot groomsman isn’t convinced of her fake persona. But he’s also very intrigued by her. So he’s lucky when she forgets her cell phone as she rushes to leave. Stella tries to ignore what she’s feeling towards Hudson, but fate proves to be more powerful than they are.

This will probably stay at the top of 2021 for me. I loved that Stella and Hudson handled their problems maturely, that was refreshing. I could read about these two forever! It was the perfect combination of love, laughs, & steam. AND I thought it was very well written.

Absolutely adored this story. I was a little disappointed as I thought there would be a little more smut but it doesn’t change the fact that it was a great read anyways.

One of my new favorites! Hudson and Stella meet at a chance encounter, but really it was fate working its ways. They both have so much to give, but Stella is hesitant to start anything. Of course that doesn’t stop Hudson from making his intentions known which just leads to a slow burn until she gives in. Tons of spice, sweet moments, and drama to keep you reading until the end!

Devoured this book in a day. It was quirky, cute and quick to read. I wish Stella’s story was told straight though instead of broken up. I appreciated that there wasn’t a forced break up but I like how the “final conflict” didn’t feel forced. Hudson POV chapters sometimes sounded so corny

There were some things different about this book than other Vi's works.
Apart from the mature characters, a bitter past and the inevitable love between the MCs, a very delicate situation was taken care of in a very matured way (and the angst was down by several notches).

It was slightly... Boring? I couldn't really feel any chemistry between the hero and heroine. Once again, I realized, that I only like penelope ward+vi keeland colabs, but not their individual books. I guess this book was very realistic in the sense that their relationship progressed at a kinda-normal pace, not a Romancelandia pace where you meet someone and 2 days later you're in love. It was enjoyable enough to destress and pass my free time between non-stop exams and mids, but not enjoyable enough that I'll remember the plot or characters come morning. It was kinda forgettable, except for the part where Charlie actually turned out not to be the H's kid. That was the only surprising part. Otherwise, the whole "reveal" was incredibly predictable.

Okay first of all I love this cover. I feel like he looks exactly like I pictured Hudson! This was my first Vi Keeland, and I enjoyed it a lot. When I closed the book I was absolutely in love with this book, but it has been weeks now since I put it down and I've had some time to get my thoughts in order. I loved the premise of this book. It started off so strong, but as it went on it seemed to drag a little. I loved the instant attraction between Hudson and Stella. I really liked their relationship as a whole and I loved them individually. Hudson is a single dad and that it a troupe that I realized I loved recently, so I adored his relationship with his daughter. I also really enjoyed his relationship with his sister and how much he cared for her. As far as Stella we learn that she has a strained relationship with her family. As the book goes on we do find out why and I will say I found it to be a bit predictable. There is also a storyline with journals that ties in with another storyline and I liked it enough but I felt like it was a little too coincidental and kind of cheesy. Speaking of journals I did love the epilogue. This book checked most of my romance book boxes, it was definitely steamy, it was a tad swoony, but I don't think that I would call it sweet. Ultimately I really enjoyed my time in this world and I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
