i really liked that the main characters, as opposed to the last book, were nowhere near perfect and the character development is what made the book for me, yet i still felt as if the book was missing something- i cant really put my finger on but i did enjoy a chunk of this book in the end.

Schwächer als bei Band 1. Zog sich zwischendrin etwas, hat aber dafür sehr gute und wichtige Messages und einen sehr schönen Epilog!

Even with having one of my biggest pet peeves/tropes, I still ended up adoring the story. They were just kids and there was a lot of growth, especially on Tim's part. And I'm not talking about with his alcoholism. Obviously that is included, but there are so many other aspects of the story. I also really appreciated Alice's background and her family. Things just hit the fan and I feel like that is very relateable to many readers. Alice was immature at times, but I can't even imagine looking back and seeing my 18/19 year old self with the eyes I have now! Very awesome story and well written. I just read a Sarah Dessen book and I'm so glad I decided to pick this one up because it just made me realize why I'm not crazy about Sarah Dessen. I can't exactly pinpoint it, but there are just so many other romance books that are done better. The Boy Most Likely to is one of them.

Yikes!

From a 4 to the sequel at a disappointing 1.5

I just never shipped Alice and Tim. I felt like they were two people who had WAAAAY too much of their own going on to even consider being in a relationship, let alone with each other. Their romance never clicked and I just didn't believe it the way I did Sam and Jase. (Oh and what was with
Spoiler Alice having an orgasm the very first time they have sex, the first time Tim has had sober sex and them saying I love you like 2 seconds later?
). I kept waiting for Alice to be like...nope not dealing with this shit, especially when Cal showed up. Like you're already annoyed by having to play mom to your gillion siblings and yet your younger brothers friend showing up with a baby...no problem!? Sigh. I started skimming about 75% hoping for it to turn around but the "twist" just sent the whole thing into more of a nosedive.

I'm going to give Fitzpatrick another try...but dang. This one was just a total miss for me.

I loved the previous book in the series, but this one was a bit off for me. I found the change between the two character's points of view to be awkward and it decreased my enjoyment tremendously.

I loved this. There's something about Huntley Fitzpatrick's writing that just has me sucked in. I still preferred My Life Next Door but this is very close behind it. I love how Tim flirts with Alice, almost in a way of putting up this front because he's sure she'd never go for him, and then when she does he finds that real calmness within himself. I just love what they are for each other, even with everything else that's going on around them with their families, etc. A great book, so glad I finally read it.

~4/5

I don’t even know where to start with this book.

I mean, I expected to love it for reasons. I didn’t expect this…

Tim is on his way toward being a better person. And then his parents kick him out, and Jase’s family takes him in. Can I just say I love the Garrett family? Because I love every one of them.

Tim and Alice clearly have feelings for each other. Tim flirts with her always, even if he believes he has no chance with her. Their relationship developed slowly, although it was apparent through the whole book.

The biggest part of the book was not their romance, though. I won’t spoil what it was, because it was a huge surprise. And then it totally worked its way into my heart and I loved it completely and it broke me in the end.

The ending is what has me so conflicted with this book. Because I wasn’t expecting it to be so heartbreaking in the end, with that ending. It makes sense, because I guess it wasn’t his time for that, he still needed to grow… But it was so good and sweet and also kind of what he needed? I loved it completely. It just upsets me how sad the ending was for him.

I like where Tim and Alice were in their relationship by the end, but I didn’t like where that big plot ended. It makes me want to sob and throw the book. It depresses me terribly so and I hate it.

This book broke my heart, to sum it up.

I will definitely be reading any book Fitzpatrick releases ever, I’m sure. I just hope that her next one has a better ending.

This book was easy to get through and I enjoyed reading about the same characters. I think this book had the potential to be something bigger though.
