Meet the Princess Diaries/Parent Trap/Frankly in Love mashup set to the song “Bodygaurd” by Beyoncé.
Pacing was a bit scattered but it was an easy read and entertaining.
The most engaging parts for me were when Izumi was with her friend group. Their dynamic was awesome.

I would have liked more focus on the romance,  especially towards the end. I was disappointed that it was her dad that came to see her in the United States,  though I understand tha  was an important part. I felt very impatient through the reading of the article of the interview she gave after coming back. It was like a summary of the whole story when I just wanted to see if she and Akio would be able to get together.

This one lived up to all the hype. I loved getting to know Izumi and her friends, and watching her grow. So much humor and heart in this story, and any “happily ever afters” are ultimately on Izumi’s terms.

This was a cute book but somehow it missed the mark for me. I liked the premise and the setting but didn’t really connect with the characters until the very end. I liked the ending a lot and I don’t know why I didn’t find the book more enjoyable. I wasn’t a huge fan of the humor and at times I felt genuinely bored.

I think this is a case of “it’s not you it’s me”. I think other people might adore it but it just wasn’t my jam.

THIS BOOK WAS CUTE I WAS BURYING MY HEAD IN A PILLOW AND SQUEALING EVERY FIVE SECONDS. it was also SO emotional and I loved it so much. it also mentioned schitt’s creek and downton abbey two of my all time favourite shows so it gets about a hundred brownie points im so excited for the sequel
