This book is about a woman who can paint the future & a cursed dragon prince that fall in love.

I really enjoyed that this book was written in the same world, Lor’Yan, as E.Lim’s other books Six Crimson Cranes, Her Radiant Curse & Spin the Dawn.
Since I’ve read all previous books, the expanding of the dragon world is what I needed & loved!

Note: This is a stand alone, so one does not have to read any of the previous books to understand what’s going on. It’s just fun to see some characters again.

• Marriage of convenience
• Grumpy MMC
• YA Romance - NO spice
• Beauty & Beast retelling
• Dragons, demons, mermaids, talking turtles & more
• Magic paintbrushes, scrolls & more
• Under the Sea setting

Read on hardback & with audiobook. Would recommend both.

A Forgery of Fate by Elizabeth Lim is a new Young Adult fantasy inspired by Beauty and the Beast. Truyan is a con artist trying to keep her and her family afloat. She is talented painter so she forges works to help pay their bills and keep food on their table. The dragon lord offers her a deal in order to pay off her mother’s gambling debts.

Dragons, slow-burn, beauty and the beast retelling, under the sea kingdoms, and magic! Yes, please. This was fantastic. I loved every minute of reading this. The ending was so bittersweet and emotional!

I love Tru! She is doing the best she can in such hard circumstances for her family. She knows something is not right with her painting and she takes a deal to save her mom and her sisters.

There is a lot of action, magic, and slow-burn romance. I loved the relationships she built during her time with the dragon lord. He is our beast. Grumpy, brooding, and fearing no one can break this curse. There were a lot of fun twists in this retelling and I enjoyed it so much.
