This was the final book I had left to read out of all the Twilight books and I loved it!!!! If you liked Midnight Sun, please give this a read too. It's so refreshing to see the story told from the perspectives of other characters, and it was really interesting to see how Riley would treat the members of his vampire army. This book made it clear how he was actually able to build the army and the fear tactics he used to keep them submissive.
Is it bad that even though I knew how it would end for Bree, I was still hoping she would somehow get away :(
Oh well, in my heart I will create an alternative ending for her.

Found this in the Little Free Library in town and my 2005 Twilight-loving self never would've forgiven me for passing on it. I also am struggling to hit my reading goal for the year, so I figured a shorter read would give me a boost.
This is a story that doesn't need to be told, but I do appreciate revisiting the series from a new perspective. Reading this actually made me want to re-read, or at least re-watch the Eclipse battle scene to compare the story lines.
Overall it's just okay. Not incredibly well written. It picks up after Bree's already been turned, which was disappointing. I would've been interesting to know more about her as a human and the circumstances of her becoming a vampire. There's a forced romance narrative that feels so unnecessary and most of it is filler. I actually think if it were even shorter, and more concise, it may have been better.

I liked this better than all four Twilight books. It's edgy and compelling. I think Stefanie Meyer's writing has improved and she obviously developed this relatively minor character fully. Fun read!

This was just amazing. It really changed the way I looked at the newborns in Seattle when I first read the Twilight saga. They're not just animals, some of them are - but some could might as well live with the Cullens. This is a must read for everyone who loves and have read the other Twilight books.
Was it really necessary to have the 18 year old be romantic with a 15 year old????????? Why can’t Stephanie write a male/female friendship that stays that way.
