This is genuinely disturbing stuff because it’s more about evil in the grander sense than just the murders. All of the sillier elements like the Masonic conspiracy stuff still somehow work because they’re mostly ancillary details handled in a “truth is stranger than fiction” way. This feels like the comics equivalent to the movie “Cure”.
My only gripe is that I wish the art had been more polished at times because the sparse, scratchy look to most of this makes it hard to tell characters apart. That’s kind of important when you’re doing a sprawling story with dozens of characters.

Look, Alan Moore is crazy, right? It's possible that he is crazier than the fictional version of Jack the Ripper portrayed here. This is definitely worth reading, but some of Moore's fascinations are just disturbing, and some of the metaphysical/esoteric content is...interesting.
Honestly quite brill in scope, though I do have to say I found some parts (mainly Mason's ravings of Dr Gull) a bit tedious (when I know Moore can make the subject and similar compelling - see Promethea).

I enjoyed it but didn't finish it. Read about half way, enjoyable, but heavy, and very dark, but also very very wordy. I'll come back later but for now enjoyable.
Cute and light read about sacrificing women to a cold and uncaring god to subjugate the divine feminine? A little heavy on victorian english
