I admire the way this story is told — or it may be more accurate to say these stories. The tale covers generations and gives in depth backstories for many characters. I really enjoyed it.

Another wildly over-hyped first novel. Twelve years to write the book, and the author couldn’t come up with a better ending? It took her twelve years because she couldn’t figure out how to resolve the messy story. Interesting book, no question, and her critique of late-stage capitalism is on point. But at the end, what was the point of the book? I sure don’t know, and I don’t think the author did, either.
