Sometimes generational trauma can be a possessed puppet that makes you burn a house down. Not necessarily your own house. If Hendrix wasn't so graphic about the injuries, this would actually be a very funny book thinking about murder puppets. That said Pupkin was threatening and scary and heartbreaking, and somehow managed to start his own cult? Incredible!

Meh…
I usually love G.H.’s books, but not this one. Slow, mostly unlikeable characters, not scary… I could keep going, but it would be a moot point. I did have a soft spot for the great aunt. She reminded me of Roz from Monsters, Inc. His sense of humor helped the rating. I wouldn’t recommend this one, but I’ve enjoyed several of his others & have every intention of reading his next.

*Screams forrrreeevvvvverrrrrrr* This book was so hysterically terrifying and stressful, I could not stop thinking about it whenever I had to put it down! Extreme CW for body horror, injury, violence, terror, harm to children, etc. I am not a huge horror reader, but this did not feel tame to me, in my limited experience. Extremely entertaining and will cause you to lose sleep. What was that noise??? Someone go check. If you have anxiety, tread with caution!
