Fast paced, easy read. Audible audio book well narrated.

Quite a different story from any I can remember reading previously. The bulk of it takes place in a women's prison. It deals with... ghosts? out of body experiences? souls? The rectifying of wrongs committed during a lifetime.

All things told, it's a good story.

Not sure why this is classified as a horror. It's more of a gentle ghost story.

The first 75% of this book moved quickly enough I could forgive it for not being up to Carey’s usual standards. Unfortunately, from there it lagged and never recovered. The final quarter was over the top eye-roll material from beginning to end. Definitely not the type of quality I’m used to from this author and easily his worst work.

Orange is the New Black, but with Ghosts.

I was really excited for this book as I loved 'The girl with all the gifts'. Sadly it's a very different story and didn't have the same kind of emotional impact. The writing was still good on the whole and there were some interesting characters but the plot did feel silly at times.
