Man, was that ever enjoyable. This was right up there with At Devil's Rock by Paul Tremblay for my favorite read of the summer. I'd give Devil's Rock the slight edge, but I'm really digging both Tremblay and Carey.

Fellside is a ghost story that is a little bit different than what one would typically expect. I think I have a good explanation of the overarching mythology, which is both surprising and incredibly satisfying. My only quibble is with one part that I wish would have happened differently, but this isn't a fault of the story, just my personal wish fulfillment.

Probably not standard horror fair, but this is a solid ghost story that left me with goosebumps at one point. Spooky and revelatory, I would recommend this to anyone.
