This is one of my all-time favorite books. I loved it a lot back when I read it in high-school. I remember I was not able to let it down because I was that entertained by it. Some of its twists were obvious and you could tell what was going to happen, but it still brought me the excitement needed.

I've come to realize very quickly that all of Dan Brown's novel employ the same basic formula. Real time thrillers that unfold from several perspectives at once. To which I say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. He's an absolute master at his method. Digital Fortress was his debut novel, but it marks the 4th book of his that I have read. Just as good, if not better than the others. Fast paced, non stop highs and lows, and new reveals and twists at every turn. I just can't put his books down. And they suck me in with a swiftness each and every time. They may be simplistic in style, but they also pack a high entertaining punch, at least for me. And I love how he writes his characters. You get just enough to care about them, but not so much that you get weighed down by every needless detail of their existence. It takes a high level of writing talent to get that across so easily. To a certain extent, if you've read one of his books, you've read them all, but I'll never tire of them. I think he may even be an underrated writer. He's one author I just wish would write faster. Start to finish, I loved this. If you like cracking codes and solving mysteries, I can't imagine you wouldn't enjoy it too.

As a not-so-proud loyal reader of Dan Brown, this was my second read of his following Deception Point and remember being annoyed by this one because where Deception Point had a cast of interesting characters, this one just had a bunch of characters who thought that the MC was gorgeous, which was agonizing

Not quite 3.5, maybe 3.2 for the fast paced story. I liked the story all the way except for the ending which was a cheese-fest. A room full of decoders and it takes an English professor to come up with the solution. C’mon!! Well written, characters are only mildly irritating and the twist was not original.
