This book lost itself by page 200. I felt like the constant plot twists were not even surprising anymore, and unconvincing.
The concept of an encrypting algorithm impossible to solve was so interesting, and the whole conspiracy and reflection regarding privacy laws were such innovative and new concepts to explore on a thriller.
However, the constant change of “bad-guys” over time, the drive to destroy America’s most secret information for a woman, and the non realistic moments of David fighting against logic and highly trained assassins were the main pet peeves I had regarding the story.
A great and quick read, regardless.

This was by far THE worst book I have read in a long while. How in the world did Dan Brown ever get picked up? I only finished it because I was curious about what he may 'reveal' about the NSA. This ended up being my 'bathroom' book because I could do only about one or two pages at at time.

Really good. Lots of twists I didn't see coming. Only thing that sets this book back is actually how dated it ends up feeling as you read along. It relies much on the technology of it's time heavily, therefore feels a little behind reading it 20 years after its release. Also, the main character, being female, is too much of a damsel in distress considering her job position and all. At the same time, her boyfriend happens to be an assassin dodging college professor which really doesn't make any sense. However, the book kept me intrigued, as good as any Dan Brown novel could be.
