I listened to the audiobook of this and it’s fantastic. Love the narration and sped through it so quickly. I picked up this book as it’s a standalone to break up a series I’m currently reading. I feel you should go in blind reading this. But I will mention a couple of things before you decide to pick it up. The female character Sofia is 12 years old at the start of this and due to a fall out with her sister Serifina, Sofia is now to marry Danilio who at the time is 22. There condition is that they have to wait 6 years until she is 18 and of age to marry. Also Sofia has had a major crush on Danilio from a young age and Danilio only had eyes for her older sister Serifina. Danilio avoided and kept distance as she wasn’t of age yet but when she turned 17 she wanted Danilio to notice her so she started to force herself on him but he said no and pushed her away the other incident is a bit more dark before she turns 18.
Overall she is young and he is 10 years older. She just wants to be his first thought not a second. Sofia gets upset about what Danilio does and who he has previously been with. By the end I loved how Danilio was making up for his mistakes and the intimate scenes felt romantic and emotional for both. I felt this was a bit of a slow burn but still really enjoyed.

Seemed to take forever to get to the meat of the story and I wasn’t really a fan of Sofia’s POV as a child and pre-teen being so emotionally intense with the idea of Danilo. BUT I am such a sucker for every single trope this book had to offer: mafia, arranged marriage, age gap, virginal, coming of age, and the best: vulgar foreplay. So I fell hard for this couple. And that’s all there is to say.
