I liked this a lot more than I expected to, given the slow start. (I almost DNF!) I hated the dynamic between Grant and Helen at first. They grew on me as they walked through healing, forgiveness, vulnerability. (Audiobook)

Ok ok ok I cannot get over how much I love this book and the fact it was written by a Chinese woman, you go sis! WOW. There’s so much in Asian culture that isn’t well represented in popular culture, esp in romance novels, honestly in love stories in general, and I’m so beyond thrilled and impressed that Yulin Kuang managed to hit on all the above.
I’ve always believed a simple kiss on the hand to be one of the hottest acts of foreplay and this book just reaffirms it for me lol. Phewwwwwww, the build up between Helen and Grant was so steamy and well developed. All that tension and hate-love back and forth did their friendship and later relationship justice imo.
I started this before bed one night and immediately knew jt was going to be good. Finished it the next day and felt bereft. Please write more Yulin!
