Great second installment.
Will and Patrick are back in Healing and still in sort of denial about their marriage - Will thinks he is still in love with and wants Ryan; Patrick thinks he needs to be somewhere eslse to be the best brain surgeon ever.
The sexual tension is getting so high now they need to do the dirty before they explode!
Will's family is odd ball. Patrick still highly sarcastic but loved him with Jenny's baby.
Love the humour in the stories and the great weaving in of the Human League too

14.11.17 reread : humour, snark, odd family all add up to enjoyable serial story.

Really enjoyed this one. A good mix of humor, romance, and character development. Patrick is truly becoming one of my favorite characters, although he stills remains crude and sometimes downright rude his underlying personality is incredible kind.

Will and Patrick work so well together. They balance each other out, even in ways they (mostly Will) may not appreciate all the time.

I’m excited to see what happens next.

I'm really enjoying this series, it's quirky, funny and the Will & Patrick are adorable.
The reason I've given it 4 stars is for the life of me I can't figure out why the story has been chopped up into so many pieces (the jaded part of me is whispering: money!). For that reason I'd actually recommend reading it when all 6 parts are out unless you enjoy reading a few chapters of a book and then having to wait for the next few chapters. No, me neither.

Review for the whole series of 6 novellas - they really do not stand on their own, and form one complete story arc with a HEA, although the endings are not tense cliff-hangers. (There are indications these may be bundled - if so, I'd advise buying them that way. You will want them all. The cost individually is not too different from 3 novels, so I'm not complaining about how I got them.)

This series tells the story of Will, a philanthropist with a difficult family, and emotionally abusive ex-boyfriend he still thinks he loves, and a heart of sweetness. And Patrick, a talented neurosurgeon with a touch of Aspergers, an abrasive social manner, and a fear of being vulnerable to love.

The two men meet in a Vegas bar, both drunk, and somehow come to the conclusion that the right answer to their mutual attraction is to get married, and then have lots of hot sex. But when they wake in bed together in the morning with a stranger's ring on their finger, dissolving the marriage turns out to be very complicated.

The set-up for the story is a bit artificial, since it perforce needed to make a quick divorce or annulment impossible, and yet not strand a guy with the options that Patrick has in an untenable situation. It's done well, even if a few moments of suspending belief are required here and there throughout the series. The characters shine, however, in their quirks and issues. And if lack of communication is an underlying theme, it at least fits with both their characters and the circumstances. There are some good (if sometimes very aggravating) secondary characters, and after the second book, I just went ahead and bought all the rest. There was a turn of events in the last that was poignant and annoying at the same time, but the solution went better than I expected, and I recommend this series as a fun, mostly light, sometimes emotionally affecting, long book.

I did enjoy this one more than book two. And I feel somewhat invested now. Patrick is such a prickly pear and I kind of love him. So onto book three.

I'm getting more and more drawn into this story (and beginning to hate serials more and more!). I guess the good news is that the next installment comes out soon, but I wanna know now. :)

Will is still sweet and tortured and Patrick is still outwardly a jerk, although he's definitely thawing a lot. I'm very interested to know what Ryan's deal is and keep hoping that Will will see the light as far as Ryan is concerned. Overall, to date this has been a sweet and enjoyable story.

Present tense narrative. I can't get past that. Sorry. 4 stars.
