"The Offering" by Layla Moon is a gripping tale that seamlessly blends elements of supernatural intrigue, mystery, and dark romance. From the very first page, readers are drawn into a world where the boundaries between the mundane and the mystical blur, and where ancient powers lurk in the shadows. The Shadow Man. I love the fact that this was inspired by Vessel in Sleep Token. I couldn't put it down. However, the only thing that annoyed me about this story was the FMC's.... and the way she talks about orgasms. It irritated me, but I was able to get past it. I'm very impatiently waiting for the next one.

Esme is abducted by the “shadow man” a masked wearing man she’d see in her bedroom while sleeping and his brothers. She finds out these brothers have been abducting and killing girls that look just like her and she spends the whole book trying to figure out why. The torture, abuse, and raping dragged on and on with no real  development. I only kept reading to see why she was taken and when we finally find out why,  it made zero sense.  What a lackluster reveal.
