Well, thank you for making me CRY
challenging emotional funny hopeful informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

I feel like the essay collection as a complete book was not what I needed at this specific point of my life. However it was informative and is perfect for baby feminists <3
my favourite essays: the question, imposter syndrome, sharia state (of mind), be a fun feminist and a short history of feminist theory

"Take the wisdoms of the women in this world and keep them at your side. Always."

This book is really insightful. All of the essays are incredibly unique and share a range of individual experiences. Almost all of the essays are intersectional!

Some of my favourite essays were: "The Power of Period", "If You Can't See It, How Can You Be It?", "Be a Fun Feminist", "An Ode to Improv", "Cat Women" and "A Short History of Feminist Theory". Though all of them were amazing and really well written.

I would recommend this book to everyone!

There is no one right way to do feminism - a collection of essays that everyone should read

So, I loved this collection of essays very much.
As you may have concluded from the 5-star-rating.

And there were several reasons for that:
1. In comparison to the last book about feminism I tried to read and then dnf-ed because the author being a TERF just felt wrong for me. When somwthing seemed a little TERF-y in this book, it was only ever phrases that seemed more like unfortunate wording than bad intentions. And mistakes are okay.
2. Rather than being one-sided it was a diverse look on feminism including WOCs', queer women's, disabled women's (and more that I'm very sure were there but I can't recall right now) perspectives.
3. I learned so much while reading. I learned about the history of feminism, about different forms of feminism today, about the experiences of different women in different situations that made me want to cry because: WHY CAN'T THIS WORLD JUST BE FAIR?
4. But overall it left me with a positive feeling. A feeling that told me, that we are gonna make it. That we will achieve equality for all genders as long as we keep fighting.
5. I don't know exactly how but I think this book helped with my feeling of being an impostor in the feminist movement because I am a trans male. It gave me the reassurance that only because I am male and want to change so my environment will perserve me male, I do not betray feminism and I can still be part of the movement and still be a feminist. Although I always knew that rationally, it added a small, but important layer of feeling to this thought that will prove helpful if I'm struggling again.
6. Baker-Miller Pink.

Overall, I cannot recommend you this book enough.
