If you like Emily Henry books this is right up that alley. Very interesting having a narrator that you want to shake and yell at sometimes due to their lack of thinking, but that makes her growth all the better. A lovely mix of romance and found family.

The journey that Mara goes on to become more comfortable in her own skin as well as in her community is one that originally begins for a guy that she's only met once and won't see again for months, if then. While Mara's motivations for these things are sometimes frustrating and make it hard to relate to her, the way that she grows and the relationships that she develops along the way are a wonderful conclusion to the story. While this book would probably be considered foremost a romance, I think the most important part of it is that Mara learned to trust herself in all of her choices, even if romance was included in that.
