During the first two-thirds, I was majorly digging this, and yes it was somewhat corny, but perhaps that’s why I was digging it. It was zippy and kind, but the very end didn’t quite stick the landing. Could’ve seen this be four stars but still definitely worth the 80 minutes it takes to read.

Why the hell does the new version have a flipbook animation of Tom Hiddleston dancing in the corner? I found it soooo distracting.

I never do this, but I saw the movie first. And I loved it. So I read the short story. The movie gave me small signs I may have missed by reading, and the book helped fill in the small gaps I missed in the movie. Loved the movie, loved the book. Adore King's writing always.
