So, so good! Really sad it's over.

The ending before the epilogue was a bit anticlimactic, but it was still very good. Lon was extra-amazing in this book, and I just felt so bad for him. But he always tried, no matter what. Cady and Jupe were great narrators, and i thought seeing the story from Jupe's point of view was interesting, though not my favorite chapters.

This book ends the series on a great note, but with some opening for more stories. I'm really sad to see it go, since the world and characters in it were amazing. But I can always come back and meet them all anytime I want. And since I already miss it...:)

I want to give it less stars because I'm upset that the series is done. But I loved it. And I'm holding out hope that we get to see the characters again.

Not my favorite in the series, which is always unfortunate when it's the last one too. But the story just didn't quite have the same amount of excitement as the others. I wanted a final book that kept me engaged even more than the others and offered a big scene at the end that satisfied me after reading the whole series but honestly after the others, the end was just kind of boring. A lot of build up for not a lot of payoff. For me at least. I mean, I'm satisfied with how it ended with all of the characters and I still thoroughly enjoyed the book but it was not the same as the others. Plus, the added third person POV was just not good. I understand why it was there but the story is normally told from Cady's first person POV. Then random chapters in this one included Jupe's third person POV. It was just a bit of an awkward transition and it's when I usually lost interest in the story for a bit. But still, I really loved these characters from the beginning of the series all the way to the end and I'm glad it all ended the way it did and I'd definitely recommend this series for someone looking for some light urban fantasy that was a fast read with interesting characters that doesn't get bogged down by wordiness or have weird romances or anything like that. It was a fun series and I'm really glad I found it!

I bet a lot of couples have wondered, if they’d met under different circumstances, perhaps they would’ve taken a different path and never ended up together. And in a way, you got that opportunity. You chose me twice. If that’s not meant to be, then I don’t know what is.

With the Arcadia Bell series, come for the urban fantasy and stay for the romance. In the series' last book, Cady races to address the threat of possession by her evil mother. To buy more time, Cady and Lon experiment with a memory spell that leads to unintended consequences. Namely, Cady forgets everything about her romantic relationship with Lon and we get to watch them, or Cady at least, fall in love all over again. But what really got me was Lon's efforts to do his best to hide his feelings -- not only his deep love, but also his horror, grief, and misery at this development -- to protect Cady.

Jupe has a great side plot in which he finds his own romance and the mystery isn't too bad. Because it's a pet peeve of mine, I have to point out that some elements are a little too neat and convenient.
SpoilerThe Duvals worked for the Hellfire Club... umm, okay?

Oh wow, I didn't know
Spoilerit was the end of the series
!

This book picks up just a short time after the previous book - I hadn't reread that book and I found the recap
Spoilerthrough the artifice of Cady losing her memory
was just at the right level. There were a few moments when I couldn't remember who minor characters were from earlier books but not enough to spoil the story.

Anyhoo, Cady was badly injured, close to death and had just received some very surprising news when we last saw her. This book sees her trying to find a way to stop her mother from returning from her banishment into the AEthyr. Lon and Jupe help Cady as they run into scary snake cults, naked mass, stripy tails and time travel.

I loved it and I love Lon and his pirate moustache!

Wow. This series took me completely by surprise. I liked the first book but didn't love it, but there was just enough creativity with the world, the magic, and its characters for me to want to give the second book a chance. And after that I grabbed the novella. And then I devoured the third book. Then finally I made a mad dash for this one, because SHIT WAS GETTIN' REAL as everything was coming to its badass conclusion. As you can imagine, I was shocked and delighted that each book only got better and better as I went along, and importantly; the story kept getting more cohesive. The final book of this series came together beautifully and I was really happy with the way everything ended.

I almost never read a series's books back-to-back, yet I read all 4.5 books in one week. I can't remember the last time I did that, all in a row, but I just had to find out what would happen in the next book with each subsequent ending. The beauty about finding this one now is that they're all out and finished. So many series don't know when to wrap things up that this four book series really made me appreciate those that do. So if you're hungry for a new adult urban fantasy series, definitely check this out; it's unique, all of the characters are well-thought out and developed, and the magic system and world Bennett has created are really one of a kind.

What a perfect ending for the series!!
