My first book I read by this author and I liked it. The book itself with the sprayed edges to resemble pool water is very unique. Overall, a great read.
I'm happy that Scarlett and Luk ended up being together despite Scarlett's uncertainty. The epilogue was a nice touch and I'm glad they achieved their dreams outside of the pool!

A welcome step outside my comfort zone, Deep End gave me a new appreciation for both diving and kink!  Scarlet and Lukas are set up together when it’s discovered that they have complementary kinks.  Both pre-med student athletes at Stanford, Scarlett is a diver who hasn’t been able to get over a mental block despite healing physically from a big injury, and Lukas is a swimmer from Sweden with a long history of winning.  Although their initial agreement is purely sexual, Scarlett and Lukas help each other trust and let go of control in the deep end of both the bedroom and their lives.  The kink is mild, the sex is hot, the story is lovely, and the narration?  Exquisite.

The Ali-Verse is back in full swing with Olive and Adam as secondary characters. And married this time!

This was good, I just wish I loved it more. This does not rank among my favorite books in the Ali-Verse.

Scarlett’s experience is very relatable in the way that she thinks of her life as a “before” and “after” the injury. If you have ever had a traumatic or shocking experience in your life, this is a very realistic interpretation and hits close to home.

I could have done with much less Pen in the book. I’m still sus of Pen.

Scarlett and Luke were hot and sweet. Not my favorite couple, but they rank higher than Rue and Eli.

MISS ALI HAZELWOOD! I loved this book so much! Lukas had me melting from the very beginning. I adored how straight forward he was and did not take Scarlett's bs. Their banter had me blushing and kicking my feet. Scarlett was a lovable FMC and I enjoyed the cameos from Adam and Olive. I say this every time I read an Ali Hazelwood book but this one is my favorite!

It would take a lot for me to NOT read an Ali Hazelwood book. She’s definitely off on an adventure. This adventure is called kink. I love the storyline and man she can get me to love any human in her books. I love every character in this book. The smut tho. Let’s just call it not for me? But she’s an amazing writer and I just skimmed the parts that are not for me. But I mean good for this couple I wish them well 😆. Apparently I need to stick to mainly vanilla boring smut. I’m not ready yet. One day I might look back at my innocence but today is not that day.

Ali Hazelwood definitely has a type - and it's very large Scandinavian men. And, I'm mostly OK with it. While it seems like her books (other than Bride) have been a bit formulaic (i.e. nerdy science girl meets LARGE broody science guy) this one differed in that she made them both athletes as well. She focused on their relationship while being sports nerds getting to become science nerds. There wasn't the whole falling-out betrayal that has sometimes happened in her other books, which I appreciate. The sex in this one is darker, and seems to be dipping her toes in something a bit more risque and explorative. As a woman over 40, I would prefer to see her write about older characters sometimes, not college juniors, but I do appreciate she didn't make them immature.
