Scarlett and Pen. Pen and Lukas. Lukas and Scarlett. Extra drama as they're college aged and their time is torn between competitions for swimming and diving as well as college courses. Yes, super angsty. Yes, frustrating at times. Overall it kept me reading and I enjoyed the story. I was worried since I'm not in competitive swimming or diving there would be a lot of frustrating technical terms, but that wasn't the case at all. Good, very spicy book!

Ali Hazelwood can do no wrong. I only wish it was longer. The ending was okay, i wish the middle chunk had more bc it was my fav part. I loved the big sciency diction, and loved even more the terms i had to google, even tho they were then never done (lowk got edged w shrimping lolololol) lukas is a great character obv. For him and scarlett to both being excellent in their respective sports but also academically idk if it was conveyed just how taxing applying and preparing for med school is. I rlly thought this book was gonna be more intense, but we just kept merely mentioning serious things and nothing ever came of them. Anyways how can this happen to me whee i meet someone who just happens to check all the boxes and vice versa. i was so sus of pen since clarissa talked bad ab her and was so focused on it. Like I rlly thought she had stolen and given back the og tie dye shammy to mess w scarlett’s head. And then it wasnt even that bad. Did pmo tho that lukas and Pen’s relationship being over was kept a secret, felt like for not reason. I want to know lukas and scarlett’s lists, i wanted them to get into it more, like why was nobody ever tied up, blindfolded, any of the other things they mentioned being into. Also i thought him calling her troll was gonna end up being some Swedish word that sounds like troll but was actually endearing. Also i thought her abusive dad was gonna make a reappearance.

Besides all the spice or smut (which you are able to skip out of your own free will), this is an unironically good beginner romance book. Nothing toxic, everything was consensual and it was only corny once, or twice, and probably thrice. Only thing that bothered me was Pen. How the FMC didn’t immediately square up? Idk.
