DID NOT FINISH

I made it about 5 chapters in and immediately became disinterested. I don’t care to read about kinks or whatever nonsense this book was going to be about.

I don't know what to think of this, on one hand I really liked the characters and it being based on diving was pretty interesting. On the other hand, I didn't really connect to any of them and I was quite bored in places. It was fine, nothing special.

I have to start by saying that this is a very spicy/sexy/descriptive book which is definitely not my normal read/preference. I skimmed some of those parts but I also understand how a bit of it is quite relevant to the character's journey and there are a lot of warnings so you know what is coming, so please check those out. That aspect is a big part why this isn't a 5 star for me, but I definitely recommend it for romance fans.

I have always enjoyed the author's characters and this time was no different. I feel like the characters were very real, especially with how messy life and feelings are when you're in college and are kind of an adult but also learning that being an adult is a lie.

This time our main character is a competitive diver who is recovering from a really bad injury and facing a bit of an athletic block. The story really focuses on her growth and journey and is a bit of a coming of age story, university edition.

I really like how the characters had to deal with conflict between friends and I think it played out in a really true way. I also enjoyed that the love interest was a Swede and all the fun tidbits related to that. I was never a student athlete but having worked in academia I find her stories easily sneak into my heart and fit my same perception of academic settings.

It was also fun to see, briefly, Olive and Adam from The Love Hypothesis.
