I think this thriller perfectly did what it intended to do. Leads you along one line of thinking then the plot twist happens completely throwing out that previous line of thinking.
I definitely didn’t see it coming which I loved and I thought the plotting was very good and kept you wanting to know more.
Minus .5 star because I thought the very end could have been wrapped up with a bit more clarity but otherwise I can see why this is the mystery thriller to read. Perfectly sums up the genre.

A surprising interesting story. Instead of most thrillers that border on more of the mystery and horror of now it is more of reflection of trauma and a murder years ago. Which is refreshing for any thriller.

Following two stories of the phycologist and his patient. Each tainted with love, and long term trauma.

They each express their trauma differently and go through it in a heavy way. The phycologist goes back in time between him and his trauma saying he can overcome it, but instead feeds it.

While the patient goes into a silence like a Greek tragedy. She conveys her feelings through violence, writing, and the silence of body language.

Overall an interesting read, and is pleasant for a phycological thriller.

Theo’s incompetence as a therapist, his poor boundaries, and breaking confidentiality on every other page made this difficult to read as a therapist myself. He would have been fired long ago.
