What a ride. I don’t think I totally understood the plot of this, but it didn’t really matter. The journey was bizarre and entertaining enough on its own. I love how some reviews refer to this book as a “nightmare,” because that’s exactly what it feels like—-in a good way.

I don't know why Ghostworld was so trendy. The movie was trash, and the book was garbage too. It was extremely boring. I honestly do not know what made me want to read another book by this guy. But he must go for the extreme, and this one is extremely weird, and meaningless. It was based on a series he wrote called Eightball?? So is he a fucking crackhead? This was so strange, and I found myself shaking my head so much....Don't know why this is rated so high.

I just was NOT ready for that. Don't mean this is a piece of crap, a lot of people will love it but I couldn't get into it not even once.

I'm not sure what any of it means but I really enjoyed it. I had a nightmare the night after I finished. I am still disturbed by the character with crustacean tails emerging from his eye sockets. Read if you like David Lynch.
