Book 2...I enjoyed this book more than Book 1, for a few reasons.

(1) It was less "out of the blue" crass, and what I mean by that is that it's still pretty crass and the explicit talk is still very prevalent, but it makes more sense in this book. In book 1, it almost felt like the author was writing crass thoughts or sayings because she felt like she had to and not because it fit that specific spot in the book.

(2) The explicit scenes felt more genuine. I still think this the author could tone them down even more so that they aren't as crass, but maybe her point is that they're not fully human and have creatures inside that come out when they screw, but I still feel like you could make that point and still lay off a bit of the 'dirty talk' and that would make it seem more plausible/genuine.

(3) There was more plot that developed. Now, I still won't say these books are super heavy on plot, but there is one and they made some progress towards it in this book. And it's an interesting enough one to me that I was to finish out the trilogy and find out what happens.

(4) Character development was ok. There was definitely more than in Book 1. I feel like we really got to see Aria tested over and over and she did a decent bit of growing. Knox on the other hand, we get glimpses into this thoughts and at the very end, you see some growth from him, but he's still the king of flipping between caring, protective man and a cold-hearted prick in the blink of an eye, so I'm curious to see how book 3 handles/wraps everything up because I feel like he's still got a long way to go.

Overall, I did really enjoy this book. It has an interesting story line and Aria's character really got me in this book. She's not the typical damsel in distress, even though she does find herself needing rescue more than one, she doesn't take that as an excuse and just give in over time like I feel we see a lot of MC women do. It's refreshing. She understands how easy it would be to just cave to Knox and be done with the whole thing, but she doesn't, and I like that.

Now, if you're looking for a book with no grammar or punctuation mistakes, this book isn't for you. They're not as prevalent as in the first book, in my opinion, but I do seriously wonder how these got published without any of these mistakes being caught. I'm not an editor, nor was I even an English major in college, and I could catch them. But it's easy for me to not let that ruin the story for me and that may not be the case for you, so here's your warning.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The story and world building was better in book2. We find more about the Nine Realms and the characters developing. Now I gotta start book 3 to see how it develops

I love the characters, and the storyline. The cat and mouse game got insanely boring after a while, almost like there wasn't much to write about so it just kept dragging out. Some really good scenes and some interesting stuff happens. In the end I enjoyed the book but I hope that something substantial happens between Knox and Aria soon otherwise this will get boring. I can handle to storyline and him being an assholes as long as something good happens form it soon. That way Aria doesn't just look like a weak woman with stockholm syndrome.

This one was definitely better than #1. There were still major flaws with the dialogue being ridiculously repetitive. But this one had more of a plotline than the first.

I still can't handle Knox and his I don't care how many people I have to kill to get revenge for my family. That and being a complete asshole are his only personalities. I think Aria will end up with him in the end which depresses me because she deserves so much better. The butler dude warned him about pushing her away too hard and to watch out or it might be too late. I wanted to scream it should all ready be too late! There are so many issues with consent and his bipolar personality I couldn't hang. I will say he started to show some real human emotions in this book. So hopefully that continues onto the next book.

I'm glad Aria began to have more of a backbone in this book. I was getting really sick of her always just caving to everything Knox wanted. Like girl, come one! It was also pretty badass that she just ripped her rib out. Though it did seem slightly like an overreaction. ;)

-REAL Enemies to Lovers
-Dark
-Romantasy/ Werewolves, Fae, witches etc
-MMC Alphahole
-MFC strong, flawed, not completely realistic
-Touch her and die (but I also want to kill her?!)
-55% smut
-Constant cussing
-Dont even come close to figuring things out
-CLIFFHANGER

This book specifically:
- TOO much whiplash of main characters feelings towards each other.
-Spice is good but feels like a real stretch to add as much as there is.
-Plot almost takes to much of a back seat.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Trigger Warnings are similar to first book.
