I didn’t enjoy the understandably immature behavior of the main character in this one. The problem fixed itself fast but left a sour taste in my mouth.
no no no puede ser no pueden pasar tantas cosas en tan pocas páginas
El odio que le tengo a ese maldito desgraciado hipócrita no es normal ojalá lo maten pronto
Sam es el rey de mi corazón

Of all the novellas, I think this one showcases the most how Celaena can be both badass and very naive. There were many clues along the way to tell her exactly what was happening with Doneval. She did no research of her own. She simply trusted Arobynn. I can see why she would. He raised her. He valued her above the others for so long, that she felt irreplaceable to him. Yet he'd also beat her and sent her away as punishment.
And what was that punishment for? Messing up his slave trade agreement. And she thought he had totally flipped in his morality?
This was a huge lesson for her and, I think, a turning point in her journey.
Favorite Quotes:
She'd never given much thought to how she would die, but drowning somehow felt fitting. It was a river in her native country of Terrasen that had almost claimed her life nine years ago - and now it seemed whatever bargain she'd struck with the gods that night was finally over. The water would have her, one way or another, no matter how long it took.

Take my body back to Terrasen, Sam.
😭
[It always leads back to Terrasen with her.]
You're a damned idiot. You're a moron and an ass and a damned idiot. Because I'd pick you. 💞💞
